The Asset Strategy Management (ASM) book

"I urge anyone who has a stake in asset management within their organization to digest the contents of this book."

Jack R. Nicholas,

Why We Exist

In the Asset Management and Reliability domain there is a constant evolution of technology and analysis techniques, refinement and upgrade of established ERP systems and work management processes, a proliferation of asset health devices and analytics, and the development of more holistic Asset Performance Management Solutions. However, operations are still plagued with performance uncertainty, unpredictable and high costs, and hidden risk

In an attempt to address these ongoing challenges, enterprises and operations continually embark on a cycle of expensive engagements and projects with a view to taking control of their assets and the resulting performance. Ultimately the outcomes are underwhelming, with projects simply failing to work, remaining unimplemented, or being outdated by the time they are complete.

EXAR was established to provide an alternative approach to Asset Management and Operations improvement. We are driven to make a meaningful contribution to the ongoing reduction in resources required to make operations work. To achieve this EXAR partners with organisations who are looking to make the transition from a project based approach for Asset Management to an enduring process based approach. Success is hinged on the right process, one that accounts for the dynamic and changing operations, equipment and operational environment.

We are there for the duration, our job not done until the results are realised. Our focus is cost effective real solutions and action oriented plans that address quick wins and structure for enduring success.

The Asset Strategy Management (ASM) book

By: Jason Apps

Over the past decade, the reliability and maintenance discipline has seen significant change, yet in many organizations the process of managing reliability strategies has remained the same: informal at best, nonexistent at worst.

Enter Asset Strategy Management ASMx, a transformative framework for continuous reliability improvement. This book articulates the value delivered by ASM, why it's needed, what it involves and how to implement ASM to enable a culture of reliability that will translate to better business outcomes.

“This timely book has succinctly connected maintenance plans with lifecycle asset strategy management. It illustrates typical pitfalls and ways to avoid them and points out the need for periodic review and update of plans and strategy, a practice that typically is not performed or done poorly.

Especially useful in this period of digital transformation, the bullet lists and descriptions of tasks that must be performed to change an organization’s culture and drive performance provide a roadmap to success that leaders in all types of businesses should follow. I urge anyone who has a stake in asset management within their organization to digest the contents of this book."
